THE GOOD LIE (2014) Review

“We never thought that we were going to have something to offer to the world, we were just looking for help”

A mesmerizing and unbelievable tale of survival, hope and adaptation. The Good Lie is a sincere and poignant tale that is engaging and entertaining at the same time. We usually see colored people portrayed as either slaves, or in a gang or in a racial discrimination situation but in The Good Lie, we see colored people wanting to have a better purpose in life. An inspiring journey not just as individuals but as a group.

They’re bond as a family is beyond respect, the way they want to be together is carved in stone. The particular people in this group, “The Lost Boys” as they call themselves is by nature what humanity should be, selfless and thrives to be better together. Reese Witherspoon is merely a vessel in their journey but she does it with charm and convincing performance.
