ALL YOU NEED IS PAG-IBIG (2015) Review

Antoinette Jadaone, best known for her directorial job for the Hugot Movie, That Thing Called Tadhana that opened more and more opportunities for her including more movies and a TV series. Though her follow-up to the successful Tadhana film You’re My Boss is a bit disappointing, Jadaone is still one of today’s sought after director. All You Need is Pag-Ibig composed of love teams of different ages. Stories that are timeless and characters that are engaging for Filipino viewers.
Having more than two protagonists might make the film hard to follow but with its light treatment and interesting plots, All You Need is Pag-Ibig is a feel-good and simple movie that the audience will love. It doesn’t go big on its conflicts and drama but it’s worth seeing for each of its characters stories. It’s funny and heartwarming that it gets that holiday season feel the audience wants to have.
Kris Aquino, surprisingly doesn’t get that much screen time, the chemistry of Jodi Sta. Maria and Ian Veneracion is undoubtedly made the biggest impact among the love teams in the film. Xian Lim and Kim Chiu provided that young love and the struggle of being in your 20s which is convincing enough. Pokwang gave more heart to the film as her story is universal and sort of heroic. Last but not the least is Nova Villa and Ronaldo Valdez’s story, that forever love still exist, we just need to find ourselves together to attain it.
Dear Love, there’s more to to this film but at least it’s not as disappointing as You’re My Boss and it’s a story close to our hearts.

All You Need is Pag-Ibig can be summed up in a few words.
Formulaic. Fairly predictable. Cheese. ENTERTAINING AS HELL.
Despite treading on ground that has been redone over and over again, the movie succeeds in making you feel something. That’s what happens when you put an insanely talented director like Antoinette Jadaone at the helm.
I can say there was an element of love in the creation of this movie. Sometimes it’s all you need.

The only thing I felt after watching the movie was sick to the stomach from seeing so many cliches. Terribly disappointing! Jadaone needs to step up her game because her MMFF offerings have been falling flat on their faces.
