MOVIE REVIEW: Born To Dance (2015)

BORN TO DANCE (2015) Review
Directed by Tammy Davis

A lot of dance movie have been popping out of the cinemas with the same story and just offers some impressive dance sequences for the fans of the genre. Born To Dance doesn’t stray away from that conventional status where in most actually succeeds in terms of box-office. Born To Dance may be wanting to have the success of Step Up, not just a one-time-big-time shot but also have plans for future sequels.

The film has a story, a decent one, thankfully. But everything is still predictable and superficial. It does have some decision making situations that make the film more than just a dance movie. But everything is dragging except when the film gets to boast its dance sequences, which are impressive at times.

It’s not the worse dance movie but certainly not the best either. But it’s a decent past time or entertainment that doesn’t need that much effort to understand. It might not get to be the most fun movie to see but there’s no harm watching it either.

Synopsis: Coming of age tale told through the eyes of ‘Tu’, an ambitious young man from Auckland who dreams of being a professional hip-hop dancer.
