“Underworld: Blood Wars” Review: The Boring Case of Selene The Vampire

UNDERWORLD: BLOOD WARS (2016) Review
Directed by Anna Foerster

Being back after 4 years, with all the reboots and sequels that try to be edgy or dark, you’d think that maybe, the latest installment of the Underworld franchise would be interesting or at least have a story worth seeing. But unfortunately, it was all action sequences with blabbing dialogues that’s just boring.

It’s not what you would’ve wanted for a franchise that’s already lost its way. Underworld: Blood Wars feels like a filler episode of a TV series, which as a whole, feels empty. Kate Beckinsale, even though her age is obvious with her looks, still is a kickass vampire in its fourth installment but there really isn’t something in her story that will make you sit down and completely be entertained or captivated by it. The action sequences are fine, not great but the usual and it shouldn’t be like that if you really want to revive a could-have-been-a-hit franchise.
