Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino to hold Pista at the Park

In line with the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino, a one-week long exclusive screening of Filipino films in all theaters nationwide, the Film Development Council of the Philippines is kicking be kicking it off with a one-day Pista at the Park on August 13, 2017, Sunday at the Rizal Park in Manila. It will be a celebration of our country’s fiesta culture, as well as showcase of the PPP films. This is open to the public with free admission.

Pista at the Park will be a fun and festive day of food, games, and performances from the country’s biggest and brightest stars featured in the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino films and cultural performersStarting at 9 AM, the public may start enjoying the festivities and activities, from baybayin writing and henna tattoo sessions, chalk art painting, kite making and flying, to demos on animation. The public will also get to see performances from cultural performers from the Sindaw Philippine Performing Arts Guild, Banda Kawayan Pilipinas, Higantes, Ati-Atihan, and IMusicAppela.

The Sunday fun day Pista at the Park will not be complete without fiesta games that we have all grown to love, including kadang kadang, patintero, luksong baka, sack race, and tug of war, among others. To amp up the festivities, the afternoon will feature a motorcade of the PPP films and stars from Liwasang Bonifacio ending at the Burnhan open field where the audience will get to interact and play games with the stars.

With these and more, everyone is invited to spend August 13 with the FDCP family and the PPP films, cast, and crew.

The Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino is a one-week exclusive screening of Filipino films in ALL theaters nationwide from August 16-22, 2017. The PPP and Pista at the Park event is in partnership with the National Youth Commission, National Parks Development Committee, National Commission for Culture and the Arts, Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino, MTRCB, PCOO, Office of the Presidential Spokesperson, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, Philippine National Police, Department of Public Works and Highways, and ULAP, supported by Baga Manila, Eqube, JCE Inflatables, Coffeeology Manila, Jollibee, Globe Telecom, Sip Water, Vikings, Optima Digital, WhiteSpace. Inc., and Sequoia Hotel.
