FDCP National Registry Open For On-site Registration on Aug. 30-31

After announcing the creation of the FDCP National Registry last August 2 at Limbaga 77, the Film Development Council of the Philippines will now be holding on-site registration for all film workers who wish to avail of the benefits and services of the Registry.  As a database of all active film workers, the FDCP National Registry ensures the monitoring, protection, and provision of basic social services to all active film workers who are the backbone of the industry. The on-site registration will be held from 9:00am to 5:00pm on August 30-31 at the UP Film Institute Film Center (Cine Adarna).

Film workers, from actors, producers, directors, production staff, technical workers, creatives and artistic team, actively working for the past three (3) years are eligible to register in the Registry and will be able to avail of benefits such as SSS, Philhealth, and Pag-ibig services, workshops, forums, and legal consultations, as well as have access to job opportunities for local and foreign productions.

“Currently, we have hundreds of film workers working independently or on a per project basis. Access to basic social services, security, and job opportunities are real issues with them and we hope that the National Registry will be a good start in addressing these gaps,” said Diño. “Film is an industry as it is an expression of art and we have to start looking after our workers. We are glad that we have the support of the social services institutions for this,” she added.

A socialized annual membership fee will apply for all FDCP Members under the Registry, and the amount will be based on their monthly income.
