Jerald Napoles and Valeen Montenegro have been stand out performers on stage and TV for years – he in the hit musical “Rak of Aegis” and the TV show “Sunday Pinasaya” and she a staple in comedies in GMA and TV5. This October, they finally topbill a film of their own: in young filmmaker Dominic Lim’s awaited QCinema 2017 entry, “The Write Moment.”
Executive Produced by award-winning director Jun Robles Lana and award-winning producer Perci Intalan who also produced QCinema’s widely popular “Sleepless” in 2015 and “Ang Manananggal Sa Unit 23B” in 2016, “The Write Moment” is about a heartbroken writer, Dave (Jerald Napoles), who tries to get back with an ex, Joyce (Valeen Montenegro), through his romantic comedy “hugot” script but fails and instead finds himself magically living-out the scenes he has written. He’s now forced to follow everything verbatim—or else face being stuck in an existential loop of scenes that repeat over and over again.
“The Write Moment” marks the feature-film debut of young writer-director Dominic Lim. Already an instructor at the Asia Pacific Film Institute, Dominic has been writing for TV (#ParangNormalActivity, LolaBasyang.com for TV5), film (My Rebound Girl for Regal Films) and digital series (Forever Sucks, The Complex and Sabagay Life for D5) and trained under the Cine Panulat Screenwriting Lab of Jun Robles Lana. “The Write Moment” is produced by The Ideafirst Company in partnership with CMB Films and the Quezon City Film Development Commission.
