“Avengers: Infinity War” Review: Exceeds Expectations

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR (2018) Review
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo

It has been 10 years with 18 movies and it all leads to this. Marvel’s biggest and most ambitious movie to date – Avengers: Infinity War. It may sound too much but it exceeded my expectations.

The film effectively balances its 24 main characters including its villain, Thanos. It’s really a difficult feat to handle big actors that portrays big characters. No, not just big but larger-than-life characters as the roles they portray are already household names. We’ve got Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Benedict Cumberbatch, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffallo, Chris Pratt, Don Cheadle, Chadwick Boseman, Tom Holland, Tom Hiddleston, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Karen Gillian, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Josh Brolin, the voices of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel. Clearly, this is one massive film.

It’s the type of film that even if it runs at 2 hours and 40 minutes, you’ll be glued to your seats from start to finish and will hold your pee until the end credits ends rolling. It might be a little uncomfortable at first because the turning point of the story starts early as the build up is its predecessors right from the first Iron Man to Black Panther. But it’s all worth it. The film manages to be bold in telling more than just a superhero saving the universe story. It gets political at times and it also has a romance angle in it.

The entire film lets you feel what’s at stake: the world as we know it. A superhero film of epic proportions. And it managed to pull off the impossible on balancing its plentiful cast.‬ It’s action-packed, emotional and jaw-dropping. This is Marvel giving the audience what they want and more.
