Janine Gutierrez & Paulo Avelino Team-Up for Romance Movie ‘If We Don’t Make It’

It’s been a trend these days in movies that two big stars from different network team-up for a project that is far-fetched. But with Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo working in ‘Hello, Love, Goodbye’ and Maine Mendoza and Carlo Aquino to star in ‘Isa Pa With Feelings,’ maybe there’s just a need for someone to take the leap for this to happen.

And that’s what Rex Tiri of T-Rex Entertainment and his team, writer Jen Chuaunsu and director Prime Cruz did with ‘If We Don’t Make It.’

A romance movie starring Paulo Avelino and Janine Gutierrez. Two of the biggest and in demand artists of ABS-CBN and GMA Network respectively.

But what is the film about?

For Paulo, he calls it “a slice of life.” He neither calls it a romantic drama or a romantic comedy, he does not even call it a “hugot movie.” For him, what made him attracted to the story, to the script is that it offers something new to the romance genre.

For Janine, she shares that the film is “relatable,” and that her character speaks so much to her: those moments when you she does not know what to do or if she’s doing the rifght thing.

Janine and Paulo were top picks of director Prime Cruz for his movie. He shares that he was a fan of Janine’s movie ‘Elise’ and Paulo’s movie ‘Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.’ And that their acting, which does not need too much action, that you can already feel the emotions even if there are only subtle actions, are what made him choose Janine and Paulo.

‘If We Don’t Make It’ is expected to be released later this year.
