Getting A-List Actors in the Family Drama ‘Circa’

Anita Linda, Jaclyn Jose, Ricky Davao, Gina Alajar, Laurice Guillien with the special participation of the late Eddie Garcia, writer and director Adolf Alix, Jr. gathered a plethora of award-winning actors for his family drama ‘Circa.’

But how did he get all these A-List actors from the Philippine entertainment industry?

“I have worked with most of them in the past so hindi naman ako nahirapan to convince them,” shares director Adolf.

Was it hard to direct an all-star cast?

“They were all cooperative during the shoot. Schedule lang naman ang mahirap but it was a smooth shoot,” says the multi-awarded director.

Everyone understood Ms. Anita Linda’s situation. Being 94 years old, everyone was understanding enough if Ms. Anita Linda has some mood swings or when she’s being prioritized even if most of the actors are A-Listers. That made the work easier for everyone.

Here’s the film’s synopsis:

Doña Atang, a once celebrated film producer from the earlier years of Filipino cinema, celebrates her one hundredth birthday. For her wish, she wants a reunion with all the actors and staff that she has worked with in the past. She is also looking for an unfinished film from one of her directors. Her grandson Michael decides to take the task of finding them. As he does, we remember the glorious years of cinema from of its workers- fragments of a colorful past filled with faded memories.
