Newbie actress Sunshine Guimary destined to play ‘Kaka’

Sunshine Guimary’s launching movie feels like it was a tailor-made character for her but was the story and character specifically written for the newest sexy goddess?

So sakto lahat. Para sa akin, destined mabuo itong cast na ‘to,” he continues.

This May, Vivamax will take you on a wild ride in “KAKA”, a sexy comedy about a “sexpert” radio personality who apparently has some under the sheets.

Katherine Bataan, a.k.a. DJ Kaka, doesn’t just talk sex, she craves it and gets it. But despite doing it several times, she has never reached the peak of pleasure. Her mother reveals that for generations, not one of the Bataan women has been sexually satisfied. The curse is broken when Kaka experienced “the big O” with Levi who she meets at a party. Kaka believes Levi is her destiny, and decides to change for him. But her best friend, Jorge, is not convinced.

“KAKA” proudly introduces Sunshine Guimary, the newest Viva talent who is a top vlogger and known as the “Braless Goddess” for modeling microkinis and lingerie on YouTube and Instagram. Guimary had her contract signing with Viva in March 2020. She said in an *interview that to be given a launching movie this soon makes her happy and grateful beyond words. She admits to feeling nervous about the bed scenes, but she didn’t hesitate to give it her all.

Playing the role of Levi is Ion Perez, a regular host in “It’s Showtime”. Aside from it being his first leading man role, Ion shares that he felt pressured and challenged because Levi’s character is far from who he is in real life. As part of his preparation for the role, he candidly says, “Lagi kong binabasa kung paano gumalaw ang isang anak mayaman.”

Jerald Napoles plays Jorge, Kaka’s best friend who is secretly in love with her. The story also requires Jorge and Kaka to be intimate, and Sunshine hopes that the audience will feel her chemistry with Jerald, as well.

Director GB Sampedro, the award-winning director of the action-drama “Astig”, is happy about adding “KAKA” to his filmography. This is his first sexy comedy directorial film. He is also thankful to Viva for giving him the liberty to choose the cast.

“KAKA” also stars seasoned actors : Gina Pareño who plays Kaka’s grandmother, Lolita Kiri. Rosanna Roces as Mama Kams, Kaka’s mother and Maui Taylor who plays Babet, their family’s helper.

Jackie Gonzaga, a talented dancer and fondly called “Ate Girl” by her It’s Showtime family is also introduced in this film. She plays one of Kaka’s friends, together with Debbie Garcia and Juliana Parizcova Segovia.

Completing the cast are Andrea Del Rosario, Giselle Sanchez, Sheree Bautista, Lander Vera-Perez, Josef Elizalde, Pio Balbuena, Billy Villeta, Yuki Sakamoto, and Minnie Nato, with special participation of Janine Teñoso, Marion Aunor and Ronnie Liang.

The movie’s theme song entitled “Sunshine” is by Juan and Kyle who sang the massive hit song, “Marikit”. A Vivamax original movie, “KAKA” will definitely make summer even hotter! Starting May 28, 2021, BubuKAKA na! Catch its premiere on Vivamax.
