‘Sonic The Hedgehog 2’ Review: Bigger, marvelous adventure

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2 (2022) Review
Directed by Jeff Fowler

Bigger adventure, bigger action sequences, Sonic The Hedgehog 2 feels like The Avengers in terms of its scope. IT’S THAT BIG. And I’m surprised as well. I never thought I would enjoy the movie as much as I did. Not just as a popcorn, no-brainer movie, but also how the film tackles friendship, family and coming-of-age.

It’s really satisfying when the production knows and respects the source material. I mean, I’m all for a good material whether it’s faithful to the source material, but it’s extra special when you get to see little easter eggs from a game that you loved when you were a kid. The experience was special.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2 is more than your usual video game movie. It has a solid build up to its storylines: from Sonic’s coming-of-age, to Robotnik’s journey as a villain, and other side stories that complement the film. It’s fun, action-packed, big, and heartwarming – the perfect movie for the family to see.
