Young, aspiring filmmakers have until August 15 to submit student shorts entries for Puregold CinePanalo Festival

In just a year, the Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival has gained prominence as one of the country’s premier film festivals, particularly among students looking to fund the short films of their dreams. Now, with less than a week until the August 15 deadline for entries, Puregold is urging students to make haste in sending their applications for a chance at a short film production grant of one hundred and fifty thousand pesos (P150,000.)

The first ever Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival opens on March 15

The Philippine film industry anticipates the first-ever Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival. After months of preparation and hard work from organizers and participating filmmakers, the festival will now be open to the public. The official screenings will begin this coming March 15th at the Gateway Cinemas.

All films will be screened at the Gateway Cineplex 18 from March 15 to 17. Tickets are available for P300; PWDs, senior citizens, and students can avail of a discounted rate of P240 per film; and festival passes that cover all films can be purchased for P2,000.

QCinema Best Short Film ‘Bold Eagle’ to screen in 2024 Sundance’s Midnight Short program

“Bold Eagle,” the experimental sex dramedy by director Whammy Alcazaren that won Best Short film at the QCinema International Film Festival 2022, has been selected for Sundance Film Festival 2024’s Midnight Short Film Program. Out of over a record 12,000 entries submitted this year, “Bold Eagle” will be screening alongside 53 other short films in competition.
