The Film Academy of the Philippines hosted the country’s first in-person International Emmy® Awards Semi-Final Judging in Manila on August 12, 2026. A panel of global executives judged Arts Programming entries, overseen by an Academy representative.
With only days remaining before the submission deadline, the Film Academy of the Philippines is reminding Filipino filmmakers and producers to submit their eligible films for consideration as the country’s official entry to the 99th Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category.
Applications for the Philippine Oscar Selection Process will be accepted until July 31, 2026.
The 16th Gawad Buhay! Awards nominations were announced on May 26, with Tanghalang Pilipino’s (TP) “Kisapmata” and The Sandbox Collective’s “Side Show” leading the tally with 14 nods apiece.
