Mercy rises to the top of the American box office in its debut, the futuristic action thriller dethroning Avatar: Fire and Ash’s five-week reign. Mercy is set in a not-too-distant future, where Det. Chris Raven (Chris Pratt) stands accused of killing his wife. He has ninety minutes to prove his innocence to the A.I. judge Maddox (Rebecca Ferguson), or face the death penalty.
Actor Chris Pratt received a warm welcome from his fans in Mexico City as he made an appearance at the red-carpet premiere of his latest film, Mercy (localized as Sin Piedad), on January 17. He was joined by director Timur Bekmambetov, and co-star Kali Reis. The trio greeted the crowd, and took time to pose for selfies and interact with fans.
Science fiction takes inspiration from real life dystopia in Mercy, an action thriller from Unfriended (2015), and Searching (2018) director Timhur Bekmambetov. Mercy utilizes his groundbreaking Screenlife style and format, combined with cutting-edge visual technology.
