Filmmakers From All Over The Philippines for CineSB’s Cinemarehiyon

The 6th Edition of the CineSB independent Film Festival shall be held from 18 to 29 July 2016 at the DLS – CSB School of Design and Arts Building.


          CineSB is a fast-rising collegiate independent film festival in the Philippines showcasing the best efforts of Benildean students. It has grown to highlight the finest indie works from the regions and exhibit several film competitions that encourages young filmmakers across the Philippines to explore their fresh perspectives through the creative world of filmmaking.

           Cinemarehiyon is one of the non-competition programs of CineSB6. It will exhibit the works of various talented filmmakers all across the Philippines from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. With films from places such as Pampanga, Laguna, Cebu, Iloilo, Compostela Valley, and Zamboanga– Cinema Rehiyon aims to be a celebration of the Philippines’ diversity in culture while coming together in the medium of film. These films offer varied perspectives and unique experiences from different walks of people.


            Cinemarehiyon will run from July 20 to July 28 showcasing different region every day. This year, award-winning films are to be featured such as “Angkla”, directed by Joyce Pascua which received numerous awards from the Luzon region. Coming all the way from the Visayas Region, Director Kenneth Dagatan’s “Sanctissima” which was also an entry for last year’s Cinemalaya and won the Audience Choice Award is to be anticipated for. The 11th Mindanao film festival Special Jury Award winner, “Tami-aw” by Director Mary Ann Gabisan is one of the films coming from the Mindanao region.

Cinemarehiyon is free admission on a first come, first served basis in DLS – CSB School of Design and Arts Building 5th floor theatre.
