THE EVENT
Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino is a week-long celebration where theaters nationwide will exclusively screen Filipino films un kine with the Buwan ng Wika. This feetive event is organized by the Film Development Council of the Philippines in partnership with the following theaters nationwide:

AIM OF THE PISTA NG PELIKULANG PILIPINO
Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino aims to provide a platform where Filipino films can connect to the wider Filipino audience through its nationwide release. As an audience -oriented event and a nationwide festivity, Pista will offer a variety of film genres to the Filipino audience and hopes to create a venue for them to let the industry know what films move and appeal to them, thereby creating a dialogue between stakeholders. In addition to the nationwide screening, there will be caravans, audience surveys and forums to maximize the participation of stakeholders, from the theater owners, to the producers and filmmakers, and most especially, the Filipino audience.
QUALITY GENRE FILMS
As an event dedicated to the audience, the PPP intends to showcase genre films, ranging from family-oriented, to romantic comedy, horror, fantasy, and even historical films that emulate Filipino sensibilities and culture, while at the same time having commercial and even global appeal.
DATES AND VENUES
The event will take place from Wednesday the 16th to the following Tuesday the 22nd of August 2017 in ALL theaters nationwide.
SELECTION OF PARTICIPATING FILMS
Ten (10) to twelve (12) films will be selected and curated by a selection committe designated by the Chairman of the Film Development Council of the Philippines. The FDCP Chairman will serve as the Chair of the Committee. The films will be screening during the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino in over 700 screens all throughout the country.
ELIGIBILTY
Film entries are eligible based on the following criteria:
- The film should have themes reflective of the Filipino sensibilities culture with wide audience appeal.
- The film ahould have been produced from the year preceding the event.
- The film should not have been previously commercially released in the Philippines.
- The film should not have been exhibited on the internet.
- The film should be at least 75 minutes in length.
SHORTLIST OF FILMS
The selection committe will shortlist fifteen (15) films. The shortlisted films must present a marketing plan for their screening at the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino. Of these, ten (10) to twelve (12) finalists will be selected.
FINALISTS
Each film chosen to participate in Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino eill receive a Certificate of Participation and will have nationwide guaranteed screening for three (3) days up to one full week in maximum of sixty (60) screens. Extension of screening beyond the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino will be at the discretion of the theaters involved.
ASSIGNMENT OF THEATERS
The assignment of theater locations for the ten (10) to twelve (12) films chosen will be at the discretion of the Film Development Council of the Philippines and the theaters involved.
LANGUAGE AND SUBTITLES
All films must be presented with English subtitles.
AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARDS
On the 4th day of screening on August 19, the top three films will be given the Audience Choice Award based on audience votes from the previous three (3) days.
SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES
The films to be submitted for selection must reach the FDCP office by the following dates with the corresponding entry fees:
- May 19, 2017 (Friday) – P5,000.00
- June 2, 2017 (Friday) – P7,000.00
- June 15, 2017 (Thursday) – P10,000.00
The following documents should also accompany the DVD of the film (watermarked with For consideration: Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino) to ve submitted:

b. Summary of the film
c. Lead Actor and Actress filmography
d. Director’s Filmography
e. Background of production

ANNOUNCEMNET OF FINALISTS
All selected films will be announced on June 21, 2017
AGREEMENT
Submission to Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino constituates agreement to all rules, regulations and conditions contained in this document and certifies that all film and music rights and clearances have veen obtained (in accordance with existing copyright laws). By submitting, the filmmaker agrees not to withdraw the film from the event after it has been selected.
