Apart from producing movies, Regal Entertainment, Inc. is also handling the careers of some artists, to star in their upcoming movies. These talents are called Regal Babies.
Last Wednesday, August 30, 2017, a new talent just inked a contract with Regal Entertainment, Inc. as the latest “Millennial Regal Baby.”
Teejay first caught public eye when he co-hosted the late German “Kuya Germs” Moreno’s late night show “Walang Tulugan with The Master Showman.”
From then on, he appeared in the weekly teen oriented show “Tween Hearts” on the Kapuso Network. He did other shows for GMA 7 like the remake of “Anna Karenina,” Pyra: Ang Babaeng Apoy,” “Home Sweet Home” and others before he made the switch to ABS-CBN.
Over at ABS-CBN, he was part of the teleseryes “Dream Dad” and “The Greatest Love of All.”
But his acting career took flight in 2016 when a talent agency caught sight of his viral “Twerk It Like Miley” dubsmash video on Instagram.
He then flew to Indonesia to be part of the film “Dubsmash The Movie” released in 2016 and was eventually tagged as the “Dubsmash King of Indonesia.”
While in Indonesia, Teejay had to learn the Bahasa language in preparation for a teleserye.
“Hindi ko ini-expect na pagdating ko doon talagang mainit ang pagtanggap ng tao sa akin. Nang nalaman na nandoon ako, lahat yata ng TV stations gusto akong ma-interview.” says Teejay in an interview last year.
His popularity in Indonesia didn’t escape the watchful eyes of the mother and daughter team of Lily and Roselle Monteverde, who decided on making Teejay Regal’s newest Millennial Baby.
With new breaks in his career, Teejay hopes to duplicate in the Philippines the success he now enjoys in Indonesia and nearby Malaysia.
Expect to see Teejay Marquez more on the big screen through Regal Entertainment, Inc. films.
