MTRCB, QCPTA discuss collaboration for Responsible Viewing and Evergreen Film Screening

THE Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), led by Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto-Antonio, welcomed representatives from the Quezon City Parents-Teachers Association (QCPTA) on Monday, April 28, for a courtesy visit and consultation meeting aimed at exploring a meaningful collaboration focused on media education and responsible viewing.

During the dialogue, QCPTA expressed interest in conducting a series of “Responsableng Panonood” seminars — MTRCB’s flagship program — designed to empower parents to guide their children’s media habits and understand the importance of age-appropriate content.

The MTRCB and QCPTA also considered showcasing evergreen Filipino film classics. Students, in particular, will enjoy the educational and family-friendly viewing experience of these screenings.

These initiatives are planned to take place across various districts of Quezon City in collaboration with local schools.

Sotto-Antonio emphasized the importance of empowering parents and supervising adults to properly guide the youth in today’s rapidly evolving media landscape.

“Media plays a powerful role in shaping values and perspectives, especially in our children. Through this collaboration with the QCPTA, we aim to promote responsible viewing habits that start at home and extend to the broader community,” said Sotto-Antonio.

QCPTA representatives expressed their gratitude to MTRCB’s initiative, pointing out that it might improve family relationships, parents-teachers-students awareness and appreciation for Filipino classic films.

The MTRCB is committed to championing “Responsableng Panonood” to ensure a safer and more informed viewing experience for Filipino families.
