Nadine Samonte A Certified “Miner” of Maddox Jewelry, Opened Up About Getting Scammed for ₱300,000

Like other celebrities, Starstruck Season 1 Avenger Nadine Samonte is a certified “miner” at the online live selling of the President and Founder of Maddox Jewelry, Charo Cordial.

But Nadine had a bit of a “hugot”—she admitted she hasn’t been having much luck getting noticed while “mining” (commenting to buy) online! Tha’s why, without any fuss, she went straight to the Maddox Jewelry showroom at 1011 AZDM Building, J.P. Rizal Street, Concepcion Uno, Marikina City to personally pick out her pieces.

Aside from the request from her sister Nicole in Germany, which was an open heart necklace, Nadine also brought a ring to have it assessed by Ms. Charo.

She thought she hit the jackpot! She allegedly bought the ring for only ₱100K (down from its original price of ₱300K) from an online seller on TikTok. She even planned to swap it so she could buy a piece she liked even more at Maddox.

But to her surprise, an unfortunate “plot twist” happened.

Ms. Charo immediately noticed something wrong. Nadine’s ring isn’t made of real gold and the diamond is fake!

Nadine expressed her disappointment, “Nalungkot naman ako! Parang gumuho ang mundo ko!”

Nadine opened up more about her past experiences.

She recalled a painful experience from her Starstruck days:

Driven by a desire to invest in gold using her first earnings, she followed her mother’s advice. But in an unexpected turn of events—all of her jewelry was stolen by her aunt’s house help when they were moving houses!

“Para akong nawala sa sarili. I was heartbroken.”

What broke her heart even more was the loss of a deeply precious memory: the 18th birthday ring given to her by her late father.

“The saddest part was that the only memory I had left from my Dad… was gone.”

Despite everything, Nadine’s visit to Maddox became meaningful, as she opened up more about what she’s been through—both as an actress and as a person who also experiences pain, “Tao rin naman ako.”
