On a night dedicated to the unifying power of music, Platinum Karaoke found the perfect partner for its next chapter in OPM icon Sheryn Regis. The beloved vocalist was officially introduced as the brand’s newest ambassador during the high-energy Sing It Loud showcase held at the Ayala Malls Market! Market! Activity Center in Taguig City. The event celebrated a powerful synergy between a company that has spent twenty-five years bringing music into Filipino homes and an artist whose soaring vocals have captured hearts for more than two decades.
Sheryn Regis built her career on vocal strength, artistic discipline, and unwavering resilience, rising from her breakthrough on Star in a Million to become one of the country’s most respected performers. During the event, she delivered an uninterrupted set of eight songs, putting her famed vocal control, range, and endurance on full display. Her partnership with Platinum Karaoke feels like a natural step, uniting a brand associated with nationwide sing-alongs and a singer who continues to give audiences something to aspire to on stage.
Speaking about her new role, Regis highlighted how central home karaoke systems are to the local music culture, noting, “May mga nagva-viral tayong mga kanta dahil sa karaoke din mismo, and Platinum Karaoke is a great instrument para talaga maibigay natin ang musika natin sa bawat bahay.” Reflecting on the timing of this endorsement, she admitted that she was initially doubtful about returning to the Philippine music scene after spending time away. “I was doubtful to come back, but God is so good, ang dami niyang instruments,” Regis reflected. “Meron talagang paraan like this Platinum Karaoke, hindi man binigay sa akin noong kabataan ko like kasagsagan ng career ko, ngayon. It’s the right time, nandyan ‘yung maturity ko, I understand what music is all about.”
The singer also candidly opened up about the personal challenges that tested her faith and career, particularly surviving a major vocal cord surgery ten years ago. “After ten years na galing sa surgery, I thought I cannot sing anymore, I thought magbabago ‘yung boses ko, but God is good all the time, kasi I just wished dati na before I said na, ‘Lord, magpa-surgery na ako. Ikaw na ang bahala. Everything, thy will be done,’ and then, binigay niya sa akin ang boses ko ulit. So, that’s why ginagamit ko talaga siya,” Regis shared. She added that losing her vocal gift was her deepest fear: “Every singers’ nightmare is mawalan ng boses, especially ako, bumibirit ako. Alam mo ‘yung mahirap maging inconsistent, ‘yung consistent na birit ko, hindi ko maibigay sa mga tao, mahirap talaga.” To preserve her voice, Regis adheres to a healthy lifestyle: “I sleep at least seven to ten hours a day. Tsaka I don’t drink cold, I don’t smoke, I don’t drink, tsaka I eat sapat, tama, you know, it’s not just the voice talaga, buong katawan, para magamit lahat.”
That discipline paid off when her hit song Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw saw a massive resurgence, connecting her with a whole new demographic. “Actually, ang ‘Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw,’ nung sinulat namin ‘yan ni sir Jonathan Manalo, nag-pray ako na sana pagbalik ko ng Pilipinas meron naman akong sikat na kanta, para at least ‘yung mga Gen Z, makakakilala naman sa akin,” she recalled. “Hanggang sa kinanta ni Morisette, nakatulong talaga ‘yun, na-promote ‘yung kanta, naging go-to birit ng mga Gen Zs. Sabi ko, ‘thank you.’ Kasi iba ‘yung mga binabalikan ka sa Pilipinas, kasi who knows baka nakakalimot na sila sa akin.”
The Sing It Loud event seamlessly combined star power with interactive product demonstrations. Through the Sing With Me feature on the flagship Alpha 2 system, a lucky audience member was invited onto the stage to perform alongside Regis, turning a product showcase into an unforgettable fan moment. The evening also marked the official launch of Platinum Karaoke’s new jingle, anchored on themes like “Sing it loud, feel the vibe,” “Dito lahat, bida ka na,” and “Real Karaoke. Real Joy. Deserve mo ang saya.” The song came alive through a crowd-pleasing mob dance that took over the Activity Center and upper floors of the mall, led by Regis, hosts Nicole Hyala and Jasper Tiongson, artist Lukas Garcia, and the HYPE dancers.
Alongside the headlining performance by Regis, the event highlighted a broad spectrum of musical talent. Lukas Garcia captivated the audience with an ambitious rendition of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, while host Jasper Tiongson took the stage to perform his debut single, Tunay Na Ikaw. Popular radio personality Nicole Hyala delighted fans by singing the radio favorite Mahal Kita Kasi. The crowd also enjoyed a preview of the upcoming PK Voice Grand Finals on November 21, as contestants Trixie Dayrit, Alquin Gutierrez, Karla Rodelas, and Rosalyn Mejica joined forces for a group rendition of Jessie J’s Price Tag.
