Netflix releases teaser trailer and additional cast members for ‘Last Samurai Standing’ ahead of its November 13 release

Netflix has lifted the curtain on its latest Japanese epic, Last Samurai Standing, releasing its teaser trailer and announcing additional cast members ahead of the series’ global premiere on November 13.

Fathers of Circumstances: A Father’s Day Weekend Film Program at Shangri-La Plaza

This June, Fathers of Circumstances brings together five deeply moving films from Japan and the Philippines that challenge conventional ideas of fatherhood. The screenings will take place on June 14–15, 2025 at Red Carpet Cinemas, Shangri-La Plaza, curated by Eunice Helera, a film programmer and festival coordinator. The program is part of the Professional Development and Networking Initiative for ASEAN-Japan Film Programmers and Curators, organized by the Japan Foundation in partnership with the Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF).

Japanese Film Festival 2025 to screen in cinemas in Manila, Baguio, Iloilo, Cebu and Davao

JFF 2025 kicks off in Manila at the Shangri-La Red Carpet Cinema starting 30 January and will continue into the regions. The regional run starts on 7 February in SM City Baguio, and will continue on 14 February at SM City Iloilo and SM Seaside Cebu. The JFF’s final run will start 21 February at SM City Davao, as well as returning to Manila on the same date at the SM City North EDSA.
