After more than a century of being confined to the margins of history, the iconic revolutionary heroine Gregoria de Jesús, the Lakambini ng Katipunan, finally takes the spotlight in a film dedicated to her story. ‘Lakambini Gregoria de Jesus’ opens in Philippine cinemas on November 5.
‘Anino sa Likod ng Buwan On Stage’ is a masterclass in tension building. From conversations of their experiences as strangers to friends in a time when there was a conflict between the military and communist insurgents, to revealing the truths about their identities and their hearts’ desires, the dialogues and their performances will give the audience an edge-of-your-seat experience.

You can say it’s a typical Chinese family drama, with themes like love, career and misunderstanding in the family. But when a filmmaker knows what story it wants to tell and how to tell that story, there’s confidence that the audience can see and feel. J.E. Tiglao’s ‘Her Locket’ weaves its story in a familiar but effective way. Presenting family issues heartwarmingly and reminding us the bittersweet journey of life and how fast time flies.

I can’t remember the last time I was this uncomfortable even after watching a movie and it’s not even a horror one. But Jun Robles Lana’s latest film, ‘Your Mother’s Son,’ made me uncomfortable without being untrue to its characters, without them being overly dramatic. It’s the kind of film that you want to shake off after watching because of the discomfort its story tells especially about morality.
