2015’s Pan starring Hugh Jackman was a disappointing re-imagination of the classic fairy tale that only boast visually stunning sequences but lacked the ability to actually entertain. Making it a sleep-inducing flick that most people would say is a missed opportunity.
Now, according to Deadline, Walt Disney Studios is preparing another live-action movie of one of their classic animated stories. Director David Lowery (Ain’t Them Bodies Saints) will helm the new version from a screenplay by Toby Halbrooks, after their own live-action remake Disney’s Pete’s Dragon opens in Philippine cinemas on September 7.
As many of you may have known, this is not Disney’s first attempt in creating a live-action adaptation to their classics. They’ve got Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Maleficent and just recently, the beautifully crafted The Jungle Book.
Director David Lowery is currently busy with his upcoming film Pete’s Dragon which is also a live-action adaptation of a classic animated film. We don’t have any other details on this yet including a release date but we’ll surely update you on this.
