THE NICE GUYS (2016) Review

Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling in a buddy comedy movie? While recent buddy comedy movies are generic and offers nothing new, The Nice Guys ends that disappointing track. While both Crowe and Gosling had done some comedy films in the past, they’re both known as versatile actors, both nominated for Academy Awards, Crowe won for his role in Ridley Scott’s Gladiator. So pulling off a comedy film, not satirical but something natural, won’t be a problem with these two.
Set in the 1970s, The Nice Guys looks and feels authentic from its characters, production and vibe. It’s fun, smart and exciting and it doesn’t overdo things or go big even with its climax which is evident of its sincerity in sticking with the film’s nature. Its effortless charm from its cast plus a well-written story keeps the film engaging from start to finish.
Russell Crowe keeps his mysterious character until the film ends, his chemistry with Gosling is delightful as to balance Crowe’s subtlety and looseness and Gosling’s loud and uptight character. The story doesn’t just give the audiences entertainment, it naturally offers these two characters that strikes the attention of the viewers and will probably remain in their consciousness for a while, not just because of their strong characteristics but also because of how their bond was formed which is enigmatic but solid.

shane black? check. Ryan gosling being an awesome dude? check. Tarantino vibe? check. Amazing and realistic dialogue? check. this movie is sure to be a classic in 20 years.
this was really awesome and funny, its going to be my favorite list 10/10
