MOVIE REVIEW: War Dogs (2016)

WAR DOGS (2016) Review
Directed by Todd Phillips

From the director of the hit adult comedy trilogy The Hangover, Todd Phillips does his thing in a new story starring Jonah Hill and Miles Teller. War Dogs is a war comedy drama film based on a Rolling Stone article and was heavily fictionalized for the film adaptation, because whatever, right?

Jonah Hill already proved his acting chops in drama-comedy films in films like The Wolf of Wall Street and Moneyball while Miles Teller did Whiplash and That Awkward Moment. And the two worked well together with the love-hate best friend relationship in War Dogs.

While the film doesn’t go deeper with its story or its characters, it’s packed with interesting and shocking storylines that can easily capture the audience’s attention. Director Todd Phillips brought his technique from The Hangover trilogy, some surprises on the way to give more layer to its characters. Miles Teller is as impressive as he is in Whiplash in here, and Jonah Hill is just insanely good, his laugh will probably grow on you as he does it not more than enough in the film.
