Philippines Bagged 18 Nominations at the Asean International Film Festival & Awards 2017

The Asean International Film Festival & Awards announced the nominations for this year’s event and luckily, submitted films from the Philippines was recognized and we got 18 nominations including two films for the Best Picture category.

The Gala Night on May 6th will feature a black tie dinner where winners will be announced and awards presented in 16 categories recognizing the talents of directors, directors of photography, actors, writers, and editors. These awards also recognize the areas of Lifetime Achievement and Inspiration.

Nora Aunor and Cherie Gil will be presenters at the awards while Jaclyn Jose, Bernardo Bernardo, Benjamin Alves and Marlo Mortel are some of the delegates from the Philippines to attend the event.

ABOUT ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards (AIFFA)

The ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards is a biennial competition for filmmakers from the 10 ASEAN countries. This film festival is sanctioned by the ASEAN secretariat as one of the joint activities for the regional grouping. It was first organised in 2013 and is now in its third edition. Known popularly as AIFFA, it is held in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. It is judged by international and ASEAN juries and offers awards in 16 categories covering all major aspects of the creative and technical areas of filmmaking. It culminates in a three-day event in Kuching and is attended by filmmakers from all over the world.
