The Short + Sweet Film Festival is Open For Submissions

Calling all professional and student filmmakers from the Philippines! Short+Sweet Film Festival is now in Manila – the world’s biggest little film festival invites you to submit your short film entry!

In maintaining its concept, entries are expected to be in 5-10 minutes duration (excluding credits). There are no content restrictions and genre styles to observe. Filmmakers are encouraged to go out, explore and discover new colours, trends and flavours of cinematic experience. It can also be shot and edited on any device that you have. However, you must the have permission to use any images, storylines, music etc. in your film. The film can be in any language or dialect. However, if you want the film to be eligible for other Short+Sweet Film Festivals there must be English subtitles.

The winning film can have its Hollywood dream and be screened after the A list audience of the Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles, California, USA at the Red Carpet Finale along with the other films from all over the world and win professional development valued at over US$50,000 from Stella Adler Studio of Acting which has produced alumni such as Mark Ruffalo, Robert De Niro, Marlon Brando, Harvey Keitel, Elaine Stritch, Kate Mulgrew, Kipp Hamilton and Jenny Lumet. Meanwhile, Local prizes include Best Film, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Screenplay, People’s Choice, Best Actor and Best Actress. Additionally – if your film is short-listed for the festival here it will also be eligible for express entry (until 2018) into other Short+Sweet Film Festivals including Sydney, Melbourne, Chennai, New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kuala Lumpur, Auckland, Dubai, Los Angeles, Indianapolis and beyond…

The first S+S Film Festival in Manila heats will be happening on July 1, 8, 15 and 22, 2017 at the Natividad Auditorium, De La Salle University College of St. Benilde, Manila, Philippines. Short+Sweet is the biggest 10 minute performing arts festival in the world with events in 30+ cities across 12 countries. We have presented over 5,000 original new works in Theatre, Music and Dance since 2002. We’ve been presenting Short+Sweet Theatre in Manila since 2014 and partnered with University of the Philippines, SM Aura and now De la Salle University.
