“Book Club” Review: When Christian Grey is Introduced to Older Women

BOOK CLUB (2018) Review
Directed by Bill Holderman

We know how massive the book Fifty Shades of Grey was, that it turned into a movie. But what happens when four stable and successful women who are in their golden years decide to put something extra in their monthly Book Club, introducing Christian Grey.

When you put Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen and Mary Steenburgen in a feel-good comedy movie about the pros and cons of being old, pro being they have the freedom to do what they want to, cons, well they are also limited because of their age.

It’s a conundrum four women goes thru together, their love life, sex life, family or just pushing each other to do more out of their comfort zone because they want things to turn for the good, because they miss the feeling of being alive or being appreciated by someone dearly.

Book Club doesn’t do much with its story, or even its cast. But it’s a decent and funny movie that is enjoyable even for the young ones.
