MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT (2018) Review
Directed by Christopher McQuarrie
It’s the sixth installment of Tom Cruise-starrer action spy thriller Mission: Impossible but it feels as though he’s still young and so as the franchise because it just keeps getting better.
Mission: Impossible – Fallout follows the events of its predecessor, M:I – Rogue Nation and everyone is back – Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames and Rebecca Ferguson plus we get to have Henry Cavill and Angela Bassett on board as well. The film feels stuffed with star power and is directed with finesse.
I’m torn between Ghost Protocol and Fallout as the best Mission: Impossible installment. Both are smart, fast-paced and highly-entertaining. But Fallout pretty much surpassed Ghost Protocol in getting you tensed while watching. At one point, I think I cursed inside the cinema because of how well the staging of the story and the action scenes are. It’s really a crazy ride.
Mission: Impossible – Fallout is one of the best action movies that should be seen on the big screen, in IMAX if possible. Those scenes that were shot using IMAX cameras (can be noticed if the frames are higher) are breathtaking. Tom Cruise never ran out of death-defying stunts for the audience to see, and they’re insane as hell. You’ll be on the edge of your seat trying to get yourself calm for being too intense.
4.5 OUT OF 5 STARS
