In celebration of its 28th foundation year, the University of the Philippines Cinema Arts Society (UP CAST) will hold an event that will showcase different films created and produced by UP CAST’s resident members wherein award-winning productions from our alumni and current members are screened yearly. Through this, it aims to promote the growth of appreciation for Philippine cinema to a larger audience. Aside from the film screening, local bands are also invited to perform in this celebration.
The event will be held on August 29, 2018, from 8PM onwards, at Mow’s Bar. Tickets are priced at 100 pesos, inclusive of one free drink.
The event will feature films by UP CAST members Emily Fast, Adrian Maquilan, Pio Dumayas, Claudette Chiong, Vanette Mendoza, Emman Mariano, Abby Fernandez and Austin Tan. And live performances by Munimuni, Sound Architects, Any Name’s Okay, Weekend Waves, Stef Aranas & Technicala and BLKD.
The UP Cinema Arts Society (UP CAST) is a university-wide student organization based in the College of Mass Communication, University of the Philippines – Diliman.
Since its foundation in 1990, the organization aspires to create a community of filmmakers, trained in the aesthetic principles of film and video production, as well as uphold a value for ethics, the mass movement of Philippine cinema, and camaraderie among film students and professionals.
