Noontime host and actor-comedian Jose Manalo finally gets his solo movie in the biopic ‘Boy Tokwa: Lodi ng Gapo.’
This is the first offering of VST Productions Specialists, Inc. headed by Tito Sotto. It looks like n old school movie but the film tells two generations of stories. One is the story of Rodrigo “Boy Tokwa” Morelos and the other one is about his grandson who’s finding answers as to who his grandfather really is.
The film showcases Jose Manalo’s comedic and dramatic capabilities. While you may be entertained by Manalo’s charms and how he plays the infamous conman from Pampanga, the film actually made me think of how he did all the tricks he did back in the 60s.
