‘Ang Babaeng Walang Pakiramdam’ tailor-made for Kim Molina

The duo of writer and director Darryl Yap and actress Kim Molina of ‘Jowable’ returns for another controversial and interesting story in ‘Ang Babaeng Walang Pakiramdam.’

Congenital insensitivity to pain (CIP), also known as congenital analgesia, is one or more rare conditions in which a person cannot feel (and has never felt) physical pain.

As rare as the CIP condition, Ang Babaeng Walang Pakiramdam’s story is not the usual story we see on TV and on the big screen, even in Hollywood. I can only see some documentaries about it but so far, I haven’t seen any feature film about the condition.

But how does Kim Molina fit in all of these? Was it crucial to cast her as the lead role? Writer and director Darryl Yap shares:

It was not crucial casting Kim because this is tailor-made for her. When VIVA said, ‘you’ll be doing another Kim Molina,’ sabi ko, ‘paano ko kaya mapapahirapan si Kim Molina?’ It was very hard for her, to actually don’t feel anything. Kaya feeling ko, bilang magkaibigan, naglalaro na lang kami. Even the cleft palate character of Jerald was also because he can do it. I mean the quality of the character will also depend on the delivery. If it not as fluid as Jerald, it will not work. It was tailor-made for Jerald, as well, same as with Kim. Ang naging (pagkakaiba) lang dito, is how to give Kim a challenge. So nagtagumpay talaga ako doon.”

So the character Tasha was specifically made for Kim Molina. It was designed according to her abilities as an actor, what she can offer more, according to director Darryl Yap.

Doing stunts without facial reactions, it looks like we can expect surprises in the film. Surprises that Kim Molina or maybe even no other Filipino actors have done yet in the history of Philippine entertainment industry.

And for the two real-life couple to work as love team on screen for the first time, it’s going to be an interesting watch.

Once in our life we all wished to not feel pain, physically or emotionally. But what if you were born to not feel any pain? “Jowable”, “Paglaki Ko Gusto Kong Maging Pornstar” and “Tililing” Director Darryl Yap once again introduces us to an unknown world in his new movie ANG BABAENG WALANG PAKIRAMDAM, starring the multi-talented actress, singer and host, Kim Molina and comedian Jerald Napoles.

The movie is about Tasha (Kim Molina), a woman diagnosed with Congenital Insensitivity to Pain. This condition makes her incapable of feeling pain – be it physical or emotional pain. And because of her condition, she also has no idea how love works. Until she meets Ngongo (Jerald Napoles), a man with cleft palate. Ngongo becomes an instrument who made Tasha feel again, especially the joys of love and pains of heartache. And together, they experience an adventure that they will never forget.

Just like in his recent movie “Tililing”, which became controversial because of its insanity topic, Darryl Yap is not afraid of tackling topics that people are uncomfortable to talk about or unfamiliar with. Congenital Insensitivity to Pain is a rare condition that is not widely-known especially here in the Philippines. ANG BABAENG WALANG PAKIRAMDAM can give us an insight of this rare condition and how it affects the life of an individual who have this condition.

The movie is also the first on-screen pairing of real-life couple Kim Molina and Jerald Napoles. The couple’s fans already know how sweet and funny they are together in their vlogs, and it is a refreshing treat to see them act together as a couple in a movie. Meanwhile, this is the second film of Darryl Yap and Kim Molina, who first worked together for the movie “Jowable”, which became a blockbuster hit in 2019.

Expect another hit movie from Director Darryl Yap and actress Kim Molina in ANG BABAENG WALANG PAKIRAMDAM, exclusively streaming on VIVAMAX on June 11. Presented by VIVA Films.
