CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD (2025) Review
Directed by Julius Onah
From afar, ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ is decent. It has the elements of a superhero blockbuster film and a story palatable for the casual audience. But you kind of miss the spectacle in Marvel movies, the connection with the characters and the satisfaction after watching them.
The film has a lot of stories it wants to tell but its main problem, at least for me, is that it wasn’t telling a Captain America or Sam Wilson as Captain America story, it’s telling a Thaddeus Ross story from Cap’s POV.
That’s where the film loses its connection with the audience. Maybe they should’ve told Ross’ story and created another one for Sam Wilson. It has a lot of politics that isn’t clear, new information that aren’t as easy to absorb as the others.
But there are things worthy to see here. We’re introduced to the charming Joaquin Torres and Sam Wilson stood his ground and proves to be a worthy successor to the title. It’s not the worst MCU movie but it’s somehow an underwhelming entry after 7 months of absence.
