THE Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) and the Safe Schools Philippines (SSP) renewed their partnership on Monday, April 29, to further strengthen the promotion of responsible viewing and safe media environment among Filipino children.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding reaffirms both organizations’ shared commitment to educating the youth, parents and educators about the value of responsible viewing and age-appropriate content consumption.
MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto-Antonio emphasized the importance of collaboration in advancing the agency’s mandate to protect children from potentially harmful media content.
“As champions of responsible viewing, we are excited to work hand-in-hand with Safe Schools Philippines to equip Filipino families, schools and communities with the knowledge and tools they need to guide children through today’s complex media landscape,” said Sotto-Antonio.
Safe Schools Philippines Founder and Chairperson Arlene Escalante Eluwa expressed her gratitude to MTRCB for its proactive efforts to safeguard Filipino children.
“I believe that when we protect our children – in their schools, homes, and even in the media they watch – we are protecting the very soul of our future,” shared Eluwa. “This partnership is proof that when good people come together, real change is possible. Maraming salamat, MTRCB family, for standing with us.”
This collaboration demonstrates the government’s strong commitment and dedication to fostering safe media consumption and responsible viewing.
