FDCP signs Philippine-France cinematic co-production treaty

CANNES, FRANCE – The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and France’s Centre National du Cinéma et de l’image animée or National Centre for Cinematography (CNC) have officially signed the Philippine-France Cinematographic Co-production Agreement at the 78th Cannes International Film Festival.

This milestone treaty allows film projects co-produced by companies from France and the Philippines to be recognized as national productions in both countries, making them eligible for local incentives and support. The FDCP and CNC will serve as the implementing agencies. 

The agreement, in development since 2019, aims to enhance creative and economic collaboration between the two nations. It opens for joint film, television, and video projects, while fostering cultural exchange and expanding distribution opportunities. 

The agreement was signed by FDCP Chairman and CEO, Mr. Jose Javier Reyes and CNC President, Mr. Gaëtan Bruel on May 14, 2025 at the CNC Pavillion. The signing was witnessed by the Philippine ambassador to France, Ambassador Junever Mahilum-Wes
