THE Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) recently conducted a Data Privacy Seminar at MTRCB Liezl Martinez Hall, as part of its dedication to strengthening data security and ethical information handling.

The training aimed to increase the Agency’s ability to protect the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of personal data in order to prevent unintentional or illegal destruction, alteration or other types of unauthorized data processing.
It also forms part of the Agency’s proactive involvement in Privacy Awareness Week, which is observed during the last week of May, in accordance with Proclamation No. 527, s. 2018.
This annual celebration raises public awareness of data privacy, protection rights, and ethical data practices.
The initiative of the Board also supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s desire to promote digital transformation and strengthen the country’s digital economy by ensuring that government institutions handle data responsibly in the digital age.
MTRCB Executive Director II Roberto C. Diciembre emphasized the importance of the seminar in connection to the Board’s mission, particularly when it comes to transactions with stakeholders and the general public.
“Napakahalaga po para sa ating ahensya na tiyaking maayos, ligtas at protektado ang ating mga datos, laluna’t karamihan sa ating mga transaksyon ay may kalakip na personal at sensitibong impormasyon,” said Diciembre in his opening message.
The MTRCB remains committed to promoting a culture of accountability and data protection, reinforcing its mission to serve the Filipino public with transparency and integrity.
