After their successful run at the Music Museum on May 9, the ‘Born This Way’ concert, featuring Thea Astley, Chloe Redondo, and Jessica Villarubin, is gearing up for a concert tour later this year. While Mariane Osabel and Hannah Precillas are preparing for their ‘Versus’ concert happening on October 10 at the Music Museum.
The music scene is alive and well in the Philippines with concerts happening every week. But what made Wide International produce concerts for the Sparkle GMA Artist Center stars?
“Because there is a large opportunity in this (entertainment) industry and I believe we have multi-business, so this industry will benefit all our other businesses, one business fuels the other,” answers Wide International’s Pauline Mae Publico.
“Also, from our experience before, we were able to bring here a Korean star. Kung kilala ninyo si Park Eun-bin from Extraordinary Attorney Woo, she was our brand ambassador for Aromagicare and Thai stars FreenBecky. So, when we were doing projects with them, we actually saw the potential of not just international stars, kasi nakita namin, sobrang galing ng local stars. If we were able to do that, why not do it with our own artists and these are some of the best divas that we have here in the Philippines,” continues Wide International’s April Martin.
What can you say that the state of OPM is getting better now after the pandemic?
“We’re just grateful na after the pandemic, parang lahat kami dumaan na livestream lang, lagi kaming gumagawa ng paraan para di maiwan ‘yung craft namin, ‘yung passion namin sa pagkanta. And ngayon, since unti-unti na tayong nakakabangon lahat, sobrang nakakatuwa na makita ‘yung mga taong sumusuporta sa amin, hindi lang sa screens ng phone, harap-harapan na. Nakikita namin ‘yung ngiti nila, nakakausap na namin sila, nakakantahan na namin ulit sila,” Hannah Precillas answers.
Between the five of you, is there any competition happening?
“Feeling ko kasi I’ve worked with them, kami kasi, hindi kami in competition talaga. We really help each other, we share our ideas with our songs, kahit mga bali ng songs, ganun kasi kami tinrain ng GMA,” Jessica Villarubin shares.
“When the Born for This concert was first presented to me, I messaged ate Jessica kung tama ba ako, hindi ako belong. Pero siya pa ‘yung nag-hype sa akin na bakit ko ‘yun iniisip. Nung nagkaroon na din kami ng group chat, kaming tatlo, talagang hina-hype namin ‘yung isa’t isa,” Thea Astley continues.
Looks like there’s no stopping these divas especially with each other’s support.
Catch Hannah Precillas and Mariane Osabel in ‘Versus,’ this October 10 at the Music Museum and the ‘Born This Way’ concert tour with Thea Astley, Chloe Redondo and Jessica Villarubin happening soon.
