In celebration of Yabang Pinoy’s 20th anniversary with the theme “Live Proud,” the movement has teamed up with Linya Linya, a proudly homegrown Filipino brand, for the sixth edition of PHILIPPINE CINEMA SESSIONS—a series of discussions exploring the current landscape of Philippine cinema and filmmaking. This marks the first time since the pandemic that Yabang Pinoy will be hosting the event in a live, in-person setting.

This time around, both Yabang Pinoy and Linya Linya promise hard-hitting and thought-provoking topics surrounding the contemporary Filipino films. The program boasts a solid roster which includes directors Derick Cabrido (‘Clarita’, ‘Mallari’, ‘Untold’), Jaime Pacena II (‘Kono Basho’), Victor Kaiba Villanueva (‘Patay na si Hesus’, ‘Lucid’, ‘I am not Big Bird’), Dwein Baltazar (‘Oda sa Wala’, ‘Third World Romance’), Dustin Celestino (‘Ang Duyan ng Magiting’, ‘Habang Nilalamon ng Hydra ang Kasaysayan’), and Antoinette Jadaone (‘That Thing Called Tadhana’, ‘Alone/Together’, ‘Sunshine’), director and production designer Nestor Abrogena (‘Ang Kuwento Nating Dalawa’, ‘Tayo sa Huling Buwan ng Taon’, ‘The Kingdom’), cinematographer Anne Monzon (‘The Love Affair’, ‘ML’, ‘Miracle in Cell No. 7’), and actress and producer Therese Malvar (‘Broken Blooms’, ‘Quezon’, ‘Food Delivery’).
