From ‘The Rain in España’ back in 2023, the Univerkada has become bigger as the following installments are also being adapted. Now on their fifth installment, ‘Golden Scenery of Tomorrow’ stars, Bea Binene and Wilbert Ross, share what’s different in their story compared to the previous stories.
Wilbert Ross:
“Yung sa amin may specific topic na tina-tackle about sa love teams. ‘Yun ata ‘yung unique talaga sa Golden Scenery of Tomorrow. And then, sa amin lang ata ‘yung may high school scene. So, mas marami pong parang kulitan, fun, or parang nakakatawang eksena. Feeling ko ‘yun po ‘yung kaibahan ng book namin sa kanila.“
Bea Binene:
“And in all fairness po kay Gwy Saludes (writer), ‘yung pagkakagawa niya noong University Series, kada book, kada series iba talaga ang istorya. Iba ‘yung issues na tina-tackle, iba ‘yung conflict, iba ‘yung hugot ng bawat character. I wouldn’t say na lahat ng story, lahat ng libro magkakapareho, kase lahat talaga iba-iba; iba’t-ibang topic, iba’t ibang storyline, iba’t ibang mga issues.
Pero dito sa Golden Scenery of Tomorrow, number one, ‘yung ma-e-establish ‘yung high school life. Merong high school, may college, tapos magkakaroon pa ng present. Tapos more barkada scenes kasi I think in the previous books, we weren’t able to see that much of the barkada scenes, aside from the book one, The Rain in España. Pero dito ‘yung kulitan, ‘yung fun, ‘yung youth, mararamdaman mo talaga. ‘Yung high school life, ganyan.
And siguro ‘yung isa pa, ‘yung it’s very relevant, especially here in the Philippines: ‘yung mga love team culture, ‘yung cancel culture, ‘yung mga ganoon. Dito ma-ta-tackle din sa libro.“
