MTRCB inspects Metro Manila bus terminals for Undas travel rush

THE Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) conducted on-the-spot inspections and information drive on October 20, 27 and 29 in Metro Manila bus terminals to ensure compliance with content regulations in public transportation, in preparation for the anticipated All Saint’s Day travel exodus.

Through the MTRCB-Monitoring and Inspection Unit (MIU), the Board checked whether terminals and public utility vehicle (PUV) operators and drivers were exhibiting only G (General Audience) and PG (Parental Guidance) rated content, ensuring that no offensive or unclassified materials were shown.

The activity underscores the Agency’s commitment to promote responsible and age-appropriate viewing, particularly in public spaces where families and children are likely to be present.

The inspection covered transport terminals located in the Cities of Manila, Caloocan, Buendia in Pasay and along the Cubao area in Quezon City. The Board also put tarpaulins in waiting areas and distributed Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials to travelers.

Operators and drivers were reminded of their responsibilities under Presidential Decree No. 1986 and the 2004 Revised MTRCB Implementing Rules and Regulations.

“This is part of our larger responsibility to ensure that every commuter, particularly commuting Filipino children, will experience a safe and family-friendly environment, even while in transit,” said MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto.

No violations were found during the inspection.

The public is encouraged to report any violations by contacting MTRCB through its official social media channels (@MTRCBGov) or email: complaints@mtrcb.gov.ph.
