Maddox Jewelry CEO Charo Cordial Reveals Almira Muhlach Was Scammed by Online Jewelry Seller

One of the trusted kontrabida on Philippine television and a Board Member of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), Almira Muhlach, went to the Maddox Jewelry showroom at JP Rizal St., Concepcion Uno, Marikina City, and brought her purchased jewelry online, but as it turns out, they are fake!

From the very first touch—and even the distinct scent of the jewelry—Maddox Jewelry Founder & C.E.O. Ms. Charo Cordial knew instantly that the actress had been scammed.

Because of this, Ms. Charo strongly advises anyone buying jewelry online to look for sellers that also have a brick-and-mortar presence, especially since Maddox Jewelry conducts online live selling as well.

She shared, “It’s better if they have a physical store so you at least know you can visit their showroom. With scammers like these, you won’t be able to track them down anymore.”

Almira was defrauded of a staggering ₱293,000.

Ms. Charo playfully teased Almira, joking that she is “rich” anyway. However, Almira quickly denied this, saying, “Losing over ₱200,000 still hurts the pocket. And honestly, while it’s embarrassing to admit we got duped, you really don’t think about it until it actually happens to you.

“I’ve learned my lesson now: the seller must have a physical store like Maddox.”

Ms. Charo pointed out that ₱293,000 can already buy a lot at Maddox. Almira can attest to this, noting that she saw an item worth ₱30,000 that other sellers were retailing for over ₱70,000!

This prompted a laughing Almira to say, “What a shame! Why only now?”

On Life, Love, and Second Chances

Ms. Charo is steadily gaining a reputation for her straightforward, no-nonsense questioning when interviewing celebrities. True to form, she directly asked Almira how it felt to remarry after her failed first marriage.

The actress gave a positive response, saying, “I’m so blessed. I was given a second chance. He has no vices.”

However, she opted for a “no comment” when asked if her previous partner had any.

Almira opened up about her past, sharing that she didn’t just walk away or jump into remarriage immediately. According to her, she endured a lot, especially since she and her ex-husband share children.
She and her current husband were together for 11 years—notably without living together—before finally tying the knot just last year.

“So there it is, I was given a second chance. Because it really feels good to have a companion as you grow old.”

Aside from her roles as an on-screen antagonist—a job Almira thoroughly enjoys—her love life became one of the main highlights of their conversation. Her ultimate takeaway? Don’t force love; your “forever” will arrive in its own perfect time.
