‘Mommy Guard’ Brings Marvin-Jolina Pairing Back to Weekday TV

Beloved 90s screen partners Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin are heading back to weekday television with “Mommy Guard,” a new family romantic comedy series launching October 19. The show will air Mondays through Fridays at 2:30 PM across TV5 and ABS-CBN platforms.

The story centers on Tina (Magdangal), a single mother determined to secure a solid education for her son, Happy (Amo Wilding). To cover his schooling, she takes a job as a campus security guard. Tensions arise when she discovers the school principal is Pio (Agustin)—a man with whom she previously traded barbs in a chaotic first meeting.

While Tina advocates for her son’s education, Pio works on mending ties with his own daughter, Kitty (Nathalie Apollo). Over time, constant interactions around the schoolyard cause their initial friction to give way to genuine companionship and romance.

Designed as an easygoing watch for the afternoon block, “Mommy Guard” mixes light domestic humor with moments of family sacrifice, bringing back the signature dynamic that has defined the duo’s projects for years.

Watch the premiere of “Mommy Guard” on October 19 at 2:30 PM on TV5 and ABS-CBN platforms.
