NEW YORK — Prime Video unveiled a fresh look at Blade Runner 2099 during a packed New York Comic Con panel on October 10, releasing an explosive new trailer and official teaser poster for the highly anticipated limited series.
Cast members Michelle Yeoh, Hunter Schafer, Dimitri Abold, Lewis Gribben, and Matthew Needham joined showrunner and creator Silka Luisa alongside executive producers Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson on stage to offer fans a deeper look into the evolving, neon-lit franchise.
All eight episodes of Blade Runner 2099 are scheduled to premiere globally on November 25, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video across more than 240 countries and territories.
A Fragile Rebirth
Set five decades after the events of Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049, the new series presents a reborn Los Angeles—one shaped not by humanity, but by its synthetic successors.
The story centers on Cora (Hunter Schafer), a fugitive tired of running who assumes one final identity: a Blade Runner. In her quest for survival, Cora is forced to team up with Olwen (Michelle Yeoh), a Replicant rapidly reaching the end of her lifespan. Together, the duo tracks a runaway harboring a secret capable of bringing the fragile metropolis crashing down.
Ensemble Cast and Creative Powerhouses
Alongside Yeoh and Schafer, the core cast features Dimitri Abold (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) and Lewis Gribben (Somewhere Boy). The recurring guest roster includes notable talent such as Katelyn Rose Downey (The Nun II), Matthew Needham (House of the Dragon), Sheila Atim (The Woman King), and Tom Burke (Furiosa).
Silka Luisa leads the project as showrunner, creator, and executive producer. Original Blade Runner director Ridley Scott serves as an executive producer under Scott Free Productions, with Jonathan van Tulleken (Shōgun) directing the first two episodes.
The series is produced by Alcon Entertainment, the independent studio behind Blade Runner 2049, The Expanse, and The Book of Eli. Alcon’s upcoming slate also includes the feature film Social Reckoning, starring Jeremy Strong, Jeremy Allen White, and Mikey Madison.
