Lee Cronin, James Wan, Jason Blum on Returning ‘The Mummy’ to Its Horror Roots

In “Lee Cronin’s The Mummy,” the young daughter of a journalist disappears into the desert without a trace. Eight years later, the broken family is shocked when she is returned to them, as what should be a joyful reunion turns into a living nightmare. Produced by James Wan, Jason Blum and John Keville, the film stars Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace, with Veronica Falcón.

Original Jurassic Park (1993) director Steven Spielberg is back at the helm for the future of the series as an executive producer for Jurassic World Rebirth. For him, there’s no better way to bring his vision to life than with his OG partner, Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp, who’s now writing for the new film.

Japanese Film Festival 2025 to screen in cinemas in Manila, Baguio, Iloilo, Cebu and Davao

JFF 2025 kicks off in Manila at the Shangri-La Red Carpet Cinema starting 30 January and will continue into the regions. The regional run starts on 7 February in SM City Baguio, and will continue on 14 February at SM City Iloilo and SM Seaside Cebu. The JFF’s final run will start 21 February at SM City Davao, as well as returning to Manila on the same date at the SM City North EDSA.

Back once again in his signature black-and-white stripes, Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton) – the trickster demon and shapeshifting bio-exorcist – finds a way back to the Deetz family (particularly Lydia, his one who got away), oozing his signature kind of dead(ly) charm, to create chaos, raise a ruckus, and otherwise just be his ghoulish and ghastly self, in the sequel “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” directed by Tim Burton, with original cast members Keaton, Winona Ryder (Lydia Deetz) and Catherine O’Hara (Delia Deetz) joining newcomers Jenna Ortega, Justin Theroux, Monica Belluci and Willem Dafoe.
