MAZE RUNNER: THE SCORCH TRIALS (2015) Review
Directed by Wes Ball

While everything feels repetitive at times, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials continues to be crazy, thrilling, suspenseful and entertaining. The Gladers can’t seem to shake their tail off WCKD, following them even if they’re out of the maze. Things get interesting as they go out in the scorch, the danger is imminent in every corner. So as one would think, the film is a very entertaining and thrilling ride from start to finish. And yes, that is the case. But also, it doesn’t have much to show for, having these obstacles along the way are good in helping the film grow but the characters doesn’t seem to be moving as the story does.

The actors are at their best, O’Brien, Lee, Brodie-Sangster and Scodelario bring in more of the same but you can also feel that they are looking for something more. The film really suffers because it had to end on a cliffhanger as to tease the next installment, they did accomplish or be where they wanted to be in the film, but you can’t help but feel the need for answers the film still left hanging even from the first one. And now more questions are added to our misery whether we wait for the next film or grab the book and read it.
