TAKLUB (2015) Review
Directed by Brillante Ma Mendoza
The events are tragic, we are all aware of that. Taklub has all Brillante Mendoza’s trademark in it; it stays away from being melodramatic, has that documentary feel and looks little but tackles big emotional situations. Aunor is great as always, acting as if she knows the part by heart and by soul. It’s unfortunate that the story doesn’t get deep enough for it to actually leave something that goes by the tragic and heartbreaking incident.
Our rating: 3 out of 5 stars
Taklub is now showing in select Philippine cinemas distributed by Solar Pictures Philippines. Rated PG by the MTRCB.
