FLORENCE FOSTER JENKINS (2016) Review
Directed by Stephen Frears
It’s a film starring Meryl Streep, what could go wrong? Clearly enough the lady is multi-talented and one of Hollywood’s most respected actress. From drama, comedy to musical, Streep is born to entertain. And here in Florence Foster Jenkins, we see her pleasant and eager to reach her dreams with the support of the people around her.
The film may not be as eventful as other stories but Florence Foster Jenkins does magic not just with its performances, but also in its sincere approach with its characters. The story delightfully gives the heart in every scene that even if nothing big is actually happening, you get to be relaxed and entertained in the world of Florence Foster Jenkins and her little adventures in following her dream. It’s heart-warming, calm and a joyous expression of one’s dream, inspiring its viewers to follow their heart as long as the people they love believes in them.
It might not be the best and most popular choice for a film, either for a date, or for the family. But you won’t be disappointed choosing Florence Foster Jenkins after watching it and there’s a lot to love about the film not just the Meryl Streep.
