SULLY: THE IMAX EXPERIENCE (2016) Review
Directed by Clint Eastwood

Clint Eastwood’s directorial works are mostly impressive, some are just decent, but at least decent, right? Now on his 35th film as a director, Eastwood teams up with Tom Hanks about the US Airways Flight 1549 crash on the Hudson River and its pilot, Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger at the center of the story.

It’s not the usual linear story as the film centers on the trial of Captain Sully among the Aviation people if Sully did follow protocol and if landing or crashing on the Hudson River was really the best option at that time. So the film tells the story about the crashing and at the same time, how life has been for Captain Sully after the miraculous event that saved 115 souls on boardthe US Airways Flight 1549.

Now, as much as things are interesting and supposed to be intense for Sully and Jeff Skies (Aaron Eckhart), because as for the simulations go, the US Airways Flight 1549 would’ve made it back safely to the LaGuardia Airport even with the Airbus A320’s damage.

Reporters and the aviation top officers bombarding their private lives, yes but not tight enough to actually feel the tension, the complication in the story. Sully is chill. But the film is decent, Tom Hanks is perfect for the role. There’s a lot to like in the film, the great scenes filmed using IMAX cameras, which seeing more of the picture than the standard cinemas, heartfelt moments with the survivors and Tom Hanks charisma on screen just makes it an engaging experience.
