LOVING IN TANDEM (2017) Review
Directed by Giselle Andres
The Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber starrer film gets to be your standard big screen outing of a new love team. It has the charms and all but you don’t get to see the story go anywhere new.
After the compelling teen drama adventure film Love You to the Stars and Back, Star Cinema gets back to its usual romance comedy offerings with Loving in Tandem. It’s a decent approach to the genre, with charming and fun to watch leads Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber.
The film tells the story of Shine (Entrata) who is a hard-working little sister and auntie. She does everything for her family and leaves almost nothing for herself. But everything gets interesting when Luke (Barber) arrives in their lives.
Loving in Tandem is your usual Star Cinema romance comedy film that aims to launch a new “tandem” with a safe story but still has adorable characters that are easy to love.
Maymay Entrata gets to show her adorable and funny side in most parts of the film, and it works. While Edward Barber gets to be charming as well, he also acts decent for a newcomer. The chemistry between the two are undeniable from start to finish and it will get you engaged with the characters’ journey naturally.
